Before a DevOps hire
Name the platform owner before the hire
REKKY Sec Ops Consulting names a person for the platform work before anyone adds headcount. An ongoing fractional DevOps or SRE placement is the Coalesce Ops practice. A contract or a hire after a written account is a separate scope, and we'll need access to the right areas and people for it.
Three jobs in one post
Keep the platforms up. Cut the bill. Be the one who is called. Those are three jobs. Under them: shared production access, a change with no record, and a calendar of updates.
The post says fractional because a full-time hire feels like too much. The missing piece is often a name, not a fraction of an engineer.
Name the owner first
This firm does not add a person to the roster. We follow the platform work, write what disagrees, and hand the account back. Identity, network, platforms, onboarding, offboarding, and access review are in that account.
AI only on a step people already do, after exposure and cost are reviewed. A tool that needs its own team is out.
The infrastructure assessment crosses the systems. Cloud cost starts from the bill. IT operations names the owner of the runbook and the alert. Coalesce Ops is where an ongoing fractional DevOps or SRE placement is practiced.
A hire comes later
A specialist makes sense after one person owns the path, access is not a shared login, and the work still exceeds the week. A hire before that name exists builds another bridge.
The writing is the REKKY engagement. Whether you still want a fractional engineer after that record exists is a later decision. Contract support or a hire can be scoped then, and we'll need access to the right areas and the right people. An ongoing fractional placement is Coalesce Ops.
Lines that pause the search
We write these before anyone posts the job. Empty lines pause the search.
- Which systems stop revenue or delivery if they fail.
- Who can change them today. A shared account is a fact, not a footnote.
- Whether the access review has a date.
- What would be handed to someone on day one, other than a login to the cloud.
- Which promise is slipping because nobody owns the handoff.
Empty lines mean an assessment, not a fraction of a person. The name step is one owner on each duty that can stop the path.
The record, then the decision
We write the scope before the work starts. Once you approve it, we'll need access to the right areas and people. You receive what holds, what disagrees, and the order to close it. The record stays with you. We leave when your team can run the next week.
If the note is that you are down and need someone on the keyboard tonight, say so. We will say that is not this engagement. Readiness your team can run is on incident readiness.

Tell us the system that stops the week. Engagements are remote-first across the U.S., and on-site travel is available. We work around your normal operations, and we'll need access to the right areas and the right people while we do. If you need a specialist we do not place, we say so.
